SignatureFD is seeking a director of insurance with experience in life, private placement life, long term care, and disability insurance. SignatureFD is a Registered Investment Advising firm whose core business is wealth management and financial planning. We are expanding our offering in life, disability and long- term care insurance and are looking to grow our team that provides support to our advisors and high net worth clients. Job responsibilities would include the following:

  • Client supporting role that articulates insurance solutions as part of the wealth management process
  • Ability to review a client’s net worth and current investment portfolio and design appropriate insurance solutions that generate additional wealth, provide tax savings, or mitigate risk
  • Ability to translate complex insurance solutions in a concise and understandable way for clients, advisors, and our planning team
  • In depth working knowledge and experience with life, long term care, and disability carriers and products
  • Assist clients with filing claims
  • Use of the agency management system (AMS360) to document the underwriting process and client communication and to conform with state laws of document retention
  • Use of salesforce to document the sales process and revenue generation by which the position will be measured
  • Act as the liaison between our financial advisors, clients, and the brokerage firms which provides our access to carriers
  • Oversee the insurance administration team and manage growth, including recruiting and hiring team members as appropriate
  • Evaluate current insurance policies and make recommendations based on client’s needs
  • Ability to identify and orchestrate life settlement cases
  • Reviewing and screening new insurance applications and submitting to broker for quotes and policy issuance
  • Communicating changes in coverage status such as policy cancellations, nonpayment of premium, or term conversions
  • Processing policy changes and servicing needs for policies for which we are the agent

Core qualifications for the job:

  • Life and Health Insurance License
  • Insurance program design skills
  • At least 7-8 years’ experience working with Life, Disability, and Long
  • Term Care Insurance
  • CFP certification or working toward is preferable
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience incorporating annuities and income-based solutions in retirement plans is a plus
  • Exceptional client and wealth manager relationship building skills both interpersonal and written
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • The ability to convert relationship skills into revenue
  • Goal oriented with a focus on revenue growth
  • Ability to quickly assess revenue potential and dedicate time accordingly in a fast-paced environment
